PLX Devices OBDII IMFD Products
PLX Devices has come out with some really cool OBDII products and gauges. The PLX Devices DM-100 and DM-200 OBDII gauges are identical except for the gauge size. The DM-100 is a 52mm (2 1/16") and the DM-200 is a 60mm (2 5/8"). They can only monitor the generic OBDII parameters, but this is enough to really keep tabs on what the motor is doing. (There are no brand specific OBDII parameters) These generic functions include:
The ones listed as no data did not
show up when used on a 2002 Mustang GT but they may show up on your application. These OBDII gagues have all of the same features as the non-OBDII versions. They can display data from up to 4 of the additional PLX modules. Click here to see the available plx sensor modules. One of the most useful functions is the warning schemes you can program using the PLX Devices OBDII gauges when using additional sensor modules. For example you can set a warning for when the Air Fuel Ratio is higher than 12:1 and the throttle position is greater than 80%. The screen flashes red and white and displays the warning trigger to allow you to react in time to save the motor. You can set up to 4 different warning screens based on input from 1 to 4 sensor parameters. The PLX OBDII parameters can also be used as "virtual" sensor modules so you can do all of the standard sensor options using the obdii parameters. This will allow things such as line graphing the throttle position to work on your shifts, or to line graph boost to watch for boost creep and waste gate issues on turbos. The included remote control can be used to switch from analog looking gauges, to digital gauges, to line graphing, and also to the 4 parameter screen with a peak and hold option. All of the colors can be changed easily be choosing between a large selection of colors on the plx menu system. This is a great feature to allow the gauges to match the interior of your car. You can also upload your own backgrounds and even design your own gauges. Designing your own gauges does require inputting 100 pictures that go from the lowest lever, to the highest level, so it is not real easy.
